Single-Storey Rear Extension
The Project
A single-storey rear extension in Rainham, Kent, adding a generous new living space to the back of the home. The room is opened to the garden through aluminium bifold doors and crowned with a large roof lantern that floods the space with natural light. Built from foundations up — with matching brickwork to the original property — the extension transformed how the family uses their home, blending the indoor and outdoor spaces into one bright, open living area.
The Brief
The homeowners wanted additional living space at the rear of their bungalow without losing the character of the property. A single-storey rear extension with bifold doors and a roof lantern was the perfect way to bring light and space into the home while opening it up to the garden.
Our Approach
We dug and poured the foundations, built the brickwork to match the existing property, and installed the bifold door openings and lintels. A warm flat roof with a large roof lantern was completed, followed by internal plastering and finishing — leaving the family with a bright, seamless new living space.
